Toronto Fashion Week- Wish you were here!

Earlier this week I was approached with the most amazing opportunity- to attend a portion of Toronto's Fashion week as a guest of one of our corporate partners. I had to pinch myself in amazement as I never dreamed that I would ever have the chance to attend a real live fashion show, let alone for one of the most fashionable events of the year. So I thought that I would invite you along for the ride.......

Micalla Fall 2011

This was the first show on the agenda. Can you believe that we were actually sitting in the front row? The designer, who's known for her 'wearable art' collections really made a statement with her simple yet elaborate designs. Simply gorgeous! However, it was my first time seeing runway models really up close and I couldn't believe how skinny they were. The models looked fierce, almost angry while strutting down that runway. I think it's because they hadn't eaten in a week. You can literally see their bones protruding out. Very interesting indeed.

DUY Fall 2010

This was our second show, and once again, we were front row (tough life, isn't it)? This was an awesome show filled with flowy leopard print tops and gorgeous fluttery maxi dresses. The music was really upbeat and the models somehow looked meatier then the last show. 

And of course, no visit to Fashion week is complete without:

And just like that, it was time to go home and cook dinner for the hubby and kiddies. I felt like Cinderalla, having to leave the ball at midnight. But instead of a glass slipper, I went home with something a million times better:

I cannot describe what an amazing time I had at the show and am extremely grateful for the opportunity.  My only regret was not taking my Canon Rebel, so the shots that you see above were all taken with my iphone. Not bad huh? Hope that you enjoyed the ride as much as I did :) Maybe I will be able to go again next year?
