A date with my son

Today's post is not one about beauty or fashion, but about the most wonderful afternoon that I had with my older son J over the weekend. As busy as life gets for our family, my husband and I make it a priority to carve out individual time for each of our kids. First step is always to check my kids social calender, because between tae kwon doe, swimming and playdates they are actually busy little buggers. So yesterday presented itself with a free afternoon and I was able to enjoy a few precious hours with my 5 year old son. And here's how our date went:



As much as little girls love their pink tutus and sparkly shoes, little boys love their cars and trains. So what better way to start our date then to take a ride down the infamous Toronto subway line. I just love the look of joy that my son gets when he sees the train approaching and the fact that he can name most of the subway stops on the TTC. Since we had several stops before our final destination we decided to have fun and pose for some pics:

So after our mini-photo shoot on the train, we reached our stop and were absolutely famished so we headed straight to our favorite family restaurant 'The Pickle Barrel' and Yonge and Eglinton. I absolutely love this restaurant as it's is completely child friendly (I've never seen more kids/babies than at this restaurant) and the food is really good and well priced. We both ate like kings (and Queens) for less than $20. If you're ever in the Toronto area I highly suggest that you check this restaurant out!

Mmmm.... everything was so good. Afterwards he headed back on the train and headed home. It was the most fabulous afternoon, full of cute conversation (aka: Mommy, how do you say that I have to take a poo, in french?) and bonding time. And you know what the best accessory I wore all day was? A smile. And you know what they, the best things in life are free :)
