Daisy Dukes at the B.B.Q

Hello Friends,

So unfortunately I can count the summer weekends left on my hand. That sucks. So I have made a point to really get out there and enjoy what's left of this warm weather, and what better way to to celebrate the middle of August then going to a family B.B.Q:

Top: Boa
Shorts: Fidelity Snapdragon
Shoes: Mephisto Black Patent Herna Sandals

When I look at these pics, i think, wow, something's missing, and then I realize that I'm not wearing black! Hallelujah! I really love the pattern on this top as it's colorful, cheery and the detailing of the sleeves gives it that special 'oomph'.

And those shorts starting off as full length Fidelity jeans, but because I was constantly on my knees (insert sex joke here) they ripped. I decided to salvage them as best I could by cutting them and now they work wonderfully as shorts. My husband calls them my daisy dukes, which I protest because I don't think that they are that short, do you?

And the shoes, let's talk about the shoes for a second:

These are my one of my favorite pairs of shoes, great for running around in with the kids and enough bling to spice up an otherwise boring 'mom' outfit. And they are the most comfortable shoes that I will ever own. Mephisto sandals (made in France) are known to be the sexy 'orthotic' shoe. I bet that you never thought that would ever hear the word 'sexy and 'orthotic in the same sentence, huh? So if you have flat feet/bad knees/ bad back like I do (yes I'm old) these will feel like you are walking on a cloud. And if rhinestones are not your thing they have so many different styles that you can find here.

OOTD- What to wear for Egg Hunting

Happy Easter everyone!

So today was easter dinner at the In-laws and of course egg decorating and hunting for the little ones:

My outfit goal was to choose something that was cozy enough to run around in (as 2 year and 5 year olds are fast little munchkins) yet with a little splash of style. So this is what I came up with:



Cardigan: Aritzia
 Belt: Boa
Necklace: Tiffany
Leggings: American Apparel
Boots: Browns
 Sunglasses: Chanel

 I absolutely love this cardigan. It's a mixture of silk and cashmere and is so comfy that I sometimes feel like I'm in my jammies. I cinched it with a wide belt to create the illusion of a waist and paired it with my worn leggings that have served me so well this winter that it might make it's way to a goodwill bin very soon. I chose to go light on the accessories with my Tiffany's heart necklace (a xmas gift from my very thoughtful husband who realizes that EVERY woman loves the sight of that special blue box) and my beloved Chanel sunglasses. I'm hoping that this is the only OOTD post where you see me with my boots for the next 4 months but given the schizophrenic weather lately you may see them again once or twice more.

As I did overindulge in tonight's dinner of mouthwatering ham, plates of crescent rolls and second helpings of apple pie, the belt did have to come off. Thank god that I wore those leggings, they really are my buffet pants.
