Ojon Hydrating 4 step Hair Care System $89 |
The Product(s):
Ojon 2 minute Hair Treatment
Ojon Revitalizing Mist
Ojon Ultra-Hydrating Shampoo
Ojon Ultra-Hydrating Conditioner
I bought this set off of The Shopping Channel for $89.00 (CAD). I had heard about this line but was reluctant to try it until I saw the promotional video featuring these tribal women who's poor skin looked parched and weathered but their hair was absolutely luscious. The key ingredient in this line is the 'ojon' oil, found in the rainforest (for more information click here) and the ultra hydrating set seemed like a good fit for my medium/thick hair. The price was a little steep however, the products were all full size and the price for just the Ojon 2 minute Hair Treatment was $38.00 if sold individually so it seemed like a bit of a deal.
The Review
The Review
So based on other reviews on this product, the main complaint of this product is the smell. I actually didn't find it that bad, all the products I tried had a very musky, cherry blossom smell, not the best smell I've encountered but certainly tolerable.
The Ultra-Hydrating Shampoo: This product didn't lather that great (as I usually love a shampoo that can give me lots of suds) and when I rinsed out the shampoo I didn't feel like my scalp was completely clean. Now this could be because of the lack of many synthetic ingredients in this shampoo but I felt like my hair was still dirty- not a good thing.
The 2 Minute Revitalizing Hair Treatment: This product has a great consistency (thick and creamy) and rinsed out well so I was pleasantly surprised. Time is of the essence for a working mother like me so I liked the fact that I only had to leave it on for 2 minutes.
The Revitalizing Mist: I sprayed this on my towel dried hair in lieu of my usual anti-frizz serum that i use here and didn't find my hair as smooth and sleek as I thought that it was going to be after I blow dried my hair. It does leave your hair soft but I actually found my hair a bit 'fluffy', which is not a good thing when you have layers in your hair like I do.
The Ultra-Hydrating Conditioner: To be honest I didn't even try it. The bottle is still unopened.
The Verdict:
I honestly wasn't very impressed with the Ojon line. I found that it was overpriced for the set and was especially disappointed with the shampoo as it didn't leave my hair feeling very clean. The only product that I thought was worthwhile was the 2 minute Revitalizing Mask but I would not go out of my way to buy it again based on the price. I used the shampoo/treatment/spray for a few weeks and didn't really notice a difference in the 'hydration' of my hair. From the reviews that I read it seems that this product is good for people who have very coarse/curly/wavy hair so if you do have this type of hair then maybe it would work better for you..
Have you used this product? If so, please let me know your thoughts on them or any other Ojon product that you have tried.

The Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment is very good! It hydrated and restored my hair and left it soft, silky and manageable. Though, this is a product that should be used on a stay at home day because you must saturate your hair with the product, which leaves your hair quite oily. Instead of leaving it on for the recommended 20 minutes, I left it on overnight.
